From the recording Breaking Waves

The song, Breaking Waves, is based on another song that Simona-Valentina released back in 2020, Two Birds, a song about losing someone dear and how "two birds become one". It was originally inspired by a sad story the songwriter read in the news, where one young lady died after she accidentally fell into River Thanks, being swept away from her fiancee's arm by very heavy gusts of wind. Around the same period, Simona-Valentina's grandmother passed away, another tragic loss, and so this song was written to portray sad feelings about the loss of someone dearly loved.

Breaking Waves Lyrics
Verse 1:
Morning, love!
I missed you last night
I couldn't wait, to kiss you in the sunlight!
The day breaks with clear blue skies
I'm dreaming again, memories of you and I.

Chorus:
Two birds were killed with one stone
Two hearts used to beat in the same home
Lord, I don't wanna wake up on my own!
Two dice were rolled at the same time,
Two hearts were playing on the same side,
Lord, it's nothing like it was before!

Bridge:
And in the loniest of ways
I see your face again
In the breaking waves,
And in the coldest rain.
Down in the valley below
It's just me who swims alone,
Now you're gone!

Chorus:
Two birds were killed with one stone,
Two hearts used to beat to the same tempo
But now mine beats on its own.
Two worlds, were do I start,
Our two worlds have fallen apart,
I know, nothing's gonna fill this whole!

instrumental

Bridge/Chorus:
And in the loneliest of ways
I see your face again
In the breaking waves,
And in the coldest rain.
Down in the deep unknown
I'm sinking like a stone,
Now you're gone!
.
Ohh
.
In the light of the valley below
In the light of the valley below(In the breaking waves)
In the light of the valley below (And in the coldest rain)
In the light of the valley below
In the light of the valley below
Ohh
In the light of the valley below (In the breaking waves)
In the light of the valley below (And in the coldest rain)
In the light of the valley below

And in the loneliest of ways
I see your face again
In the breaking waves, (in the light of the valley below)
And the coldest rain. (in the light of the valley below)

Outro:
Down in the valley below
It's just me who swims alone,
Now you're gone!
